During my daily walks and bike rides through Gouda on the way to my work as a photographer, I often notice cats and dogs resting in window frames. These windows form a quiet threshold between private and public space. Through light, reflections and small details of domestic life, each scene reveals something about how we live now.

In Window Cats and Dogs I focus on these fleeting, often overlooked moments. So far, I have photographed more than 200 animals in windows, and the collection continues to grow every week. At a time when daily life is marked by speed, uncertainty and distance, these simple encounters offer a pause. The animals become silent observers of the street, while we, as passers-by, are invited to slow down and look more closely. The project reflects on attention and the value of small, human moments in contemporary urban life.
